Performance

  • Smooth transition to planing speed.

The Outback 50’s optimal speed/length ratio of 1.7:2.1, results in a very small “hump” between 12.5 and 15 knots as she transitions from displacement mode to planing mode.

Outback 50 Resistance Curve

  • Minimal trim angle.

The Outback 50’s Trim Angle curve peaks at a comfortable 2 degrees and flattens as the speed increases. The deck angle never gets too far from level, resulting in uncompromised  visibility over the bow.

  •  Fuel Efficiency

The Outback 50 hull operates comfortably throughout its desired speed range without excessive power or fuel. The speed-power curve illustrates the potential of the boat in loaded condition with a very modest twin-engine package.

  •  Cruising Range

Cruising on a full tank at 15-20+ knots, the Outback 50 has a range of several hundred miles – almost twice the range of other yachts her size using the same amount of fuel. Throttling back to 8 knots yields a range of approximately 1000 miles.
